Your clinical and operational data, licensed securely on your terms.

For health systems, practices, and clinical data holders.

Your organization produces some of the most valuable data in healthcare, and right now it mostly sits in your systems earning nothing — while the companies building the next generation of clinical tools train on whatever they can get, often data that doesn’t reflect your patients, your specialty, or your standard of care.

Topography partners with healthcare organizations to turn your data into revenue.

We are built to work with doctors, not around them — and every partnership is non-exclusive, so your data keeps every other door open.

  • We connect securely to the systems you approve.
  • Covered by a Business Associate Agreement. Data is de-identified to HIPAA standards, using Safe Harbor or Expert Determination. Nothing is ever sold in identifiable form.
  • Licensed to vetted AI developers and research partners.
  • You earn for every record that is licensed.
  • Non-exclusive, so you remain free to work with anyone else.
  • Deeply experienced in trials and regulated data transmission, we handle the technical connection, the de-identification, the contracting, and the buyer relationships.

Questions and answers

The questions partners ask us most often.

De-identification and privacy

How real is re-identification risk — rare diseases, small towns, or buyers combining our data with other datasets?

Covered by a Business Associate Agreement. Data is de-identified to HIPAA standards, using Safe Harbor or Expert Determination. Nothing is ever sold in identifiable form. Buyer contracts also prohibit any attempt at re-identification.

What about free-text clinical notes, imaging, and genetic data?

Every dataset we commercialize is de-identified by downstream partners working under a BAA, who statistically confirm de-identification before anything is licensed.

Buyers and downstream use

Who exactly are the buyers? Can I see a list, or at least the categories?

Buyers are AI developers, research partners, and other organizations licensing data for lawful purposes. We can discuss specific buyers under NDA. Your quarterly reports show fees and record counts for every transaction.

Economics

Why now?

You may have tried to commercialize data in RWE deals previously, but there is a new fast-growing market for AI training and research. Your data is invaluable to companies as they hone their models to bring about the next generation of technology.

Do I have to pay to participate?

No, you do not have to pay any upfront fees to Topography. We operate in a revenue share, so we only make money when you do.

What does this actually pay?

Topography operates in a revenue share model; you receive 75% of the data fees your records generate. Licensed clinical data is a fast-growing market, and we have open RFPs that will pay $100K - $4M.

If it’s non-exclusive, what stops the value of my data from dropping as everyone sells similar data?

Demand is growing faster than supply today, which rewards early partners.

Operational burden

How much work is this for our IT and compliance teams?

We’ll work with you to set up access to the approved systems, but Topography handles all technical integration work — via HL7 API, direct database connection, SFTP, backend extract, or any other pathway that suits you. Data is transmitted with industry-standard encryption, both at rest and in transit.

Why Topography

Our founder, Alexander Saint-Amand, founded GLG in 2001 and ran it for two decades. During his tenure with GLG, the company consulted with hundreds of thousands of physicians and scientists and partnered with virtually every major academic medical system globally.

His second venture, Topography Health, ran clinical trials across the country for 5 years and recently was acquired to create the largest embedded research organization in the US. This clinical infrastructure supported hundreds of trials and now supports the safe transmission of data for the next wave of healthcare technology.
